Randy Skeesick, 65, of Motley died Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at his home. Funeral services for Randy will be 11:00AM, Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Motley Free Methodist Church, with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation from 5:00-8:00PM Monday, February 15, 2016 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be at Motley Public Cemetery. Military Honors provided by Motley American Legion Post #124.
Randy was born February 4, 1951 in Staples to Raymond and Irene (Kominek) Skeesick. He graduated from Motley High School in 1969. Randy married his high school sweetheart, Molly (Marlys) Engstrom on April 22, 1972 in Motley. He then went on to serve in the US Army. After his honorable discharge, they moved back to Minnesota. Randy was employed by the City of Staples for 33 years, and was a Volunteer Fireman with the Motley Fire Department for 23 years. He was also a member of the Motley American Legion Post #124. Randy loved watching his kids and grandkids play sports. His hobbies included, hunting, fishing, watching Molly barrel race, playing softball, golfing, camping, 4 wheeling, woodworking, and was very creative, he was a "Master Handyman". Randy enjoyed attending his "safety committee" meetings with his good friends. He really enjoyed setting up amazing scavenger hunts for his nieces and nephews at family get togethers. The only thing Randy was afraid of was snakes!
Randy is survived by his wife, Molly; children, Trevor (Tammy) Skeesick of Little Falls, Travis (Trisha) Skeesick of Lincoln; grandchildren, Trey, Connor, Ellie and Tytan;brothers, Ronald (Jeannie) Skeesick of Hackensack, Gary (Cynthia) Skeesick of Texas, Keith (Debbie) Skeesick of Pillager; sisters, Lois Frisk of Motley, Lana Hansen of Motley, LeAnn Larson of Motley; his best friend-chocolate Chesapeake, Tank and sidekick, Cody Mo, Molly's horse. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Irene; brother, Byron; sisters, Lorraine, Loretta and LaVaune. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
