Rachel Bristlin

Rachel E. Bristlin, 90, of Staples died on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples, MN. Services will be held on Friday, August 24, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples, MN with visitation one hour prior to services at the Care Center. Interment at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples, MN.

Rachel was born on June 11, 1922 in Alexandria, MN to Clarence and Clara (South) Erickson. She lived in Alexandria for 13 years before moving to Staples. She married Ernest Bristlin on May 4, 1939 in Staples, MN. They farmed until Ernest's death in 1976. Rachel then moved to Eagen in 1982 and later to Farmington. Rachel returned to Staples in 2001. She loved flowers and arranging flowers. Rachel enjoyed collecting dolls, cooking, music, and singing. She especially loved her collection of stuffed teddy bears. Rachel was involved with Christian Women in the 1970's and 1980's and also with Topps.

She is survived by her children, Jack (Marie) Bristlin, Ted Bristlin, and Greg Bristlin all of Staples, MN; and grandchildren, Scott and Matthew. Rachel is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ernest; grandson, Darren; sister, Joyce; brother, Clarence; sister-in-law, Jean; and daughter-in-law, Evelyn.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples.
