Phyllis Mae Hoger, 86, of Lake Shore, MN passed away in her sleep at her home Sunday, February 7, 2016. Services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Crosslake Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kate Stangl officiating. Family and friends are welcome to gather one-hour prior.
Phyllis was born June 11, 1929, in Jamestown, ND, the daughter of Herman and Lydia (Zimmer) Goodroad. She graduated from high school in 1947 and in 1952 she married Donald Hoger. Phyllis worked for the National Bank in Jamestown before being employed as a librarian at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks for 18 years. Don and Phyllis retired to the Brainerd Lakes Area in 1989. Phyllis was a 4-H Leader and enjoyed being involved on election boards and collecting antiques. She also was an avid reader and liked to cook. Phyllis was a Deacon at Crosslake Presbyterian.
She will be missed by her husband, Don; children; Jeff (Nanae) Hoger and Jeannie (Charles) Boldt; and grandchildren, Gwen Hoger and Jenny Boldt. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Jim and Harlan.
Memorials preferred to Crosslake Presbyterian Church.
