Phillip Larue

Phillip L. LaRue, 66, of Backus, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018 surrounded by family at the family home in Backus.

Phillip was born on September 20, 1951 in Harvey, IL, to Thomas E. and Angela M. (Jaeger) LaRue. Phil loved spending time with family and friends on Ponto Lake. He had a big heart and a wonderful sense of humor. Phil was a loving father, uncle and brother. He will be dearly missed.

Phil is survived by his two sons, Owen LaRue (Cora Haselow) and Thomas LaRue; his brother, Owen (Amy) LaRue; three sisters, Catherine (Bob) Fowler, Louise (Dean) Shaffer and Adrienne (Brian) Erickson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary T. LaRue.

Celebration of life gathering will be from 1 to 4 PM on Saturday, July 14, at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River. Military honors and burial at 5 PM on Saturday, July 14, at Ponto Lake Cemetery, Ponto Township.
