Petra Flategraff

Petra Flategraff, age 101, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Good Samaritan Society Pine River. She was born December 7, 1909, in Pequot Lakes, to Severt and Lena Simonson. She married Oliver Flategraff on September 3, 1929. They had three children: Marilyn, Delores and Howard. They farmed in Moose Lake Township until 1948. They then moved to St. Cloud where Petra was employed at St. Cloud College as a dorm housekeeper. She also worked at Camp Foley for three years after leaving the college. Petra enjoyed sewing, dancing, gardening and especially enjoyed music. She was a member of Maple Hill Lutheran Church.

Petra is survived by daughters: Marilyn Chamberlain (Fred), Delores Johnson (Duwayne); son, Howard Flategraff (Delores), all of Pine River; 11 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 37 great-great grandchildren.

Her parents, husband, two brothers and one grandson preceded her in death.

Services will be 1 PM on Saturday, April 23, at Maple Hill Lutheran Church, rural Pine River, with Pastor Mel Nefstead officiating. Burial will be in Moose Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 PM at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
