Peter Waldor

June 23, 1926 — November 15, 2013

Peter B. Waldor, 87, of Nisswa, died Friday, November 15, 2013 at Essentia Health - St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. A Celebration of Peter's life will be held at 12:00 PM, Sunday, December 8, 2013 at the American Legion in Nisswa.

Peter was born June 23, 1926, in St. Paul, MN, the son of Nels and Gwenith (Butchart) Waldor. He was united in marriage to Carol Randall on June 13, 1953 in Milbank, SD. For 28 years, Peter worked for the State of California as a medical technician specializing in EEG and EKG. Following Peter's retirement in 1981, he and Carol moved to the Nisswa area. He was an avid reader for many years before developing macular degeneration in 2002. Peter loved to be outside - enjoying golf and canoeing. He also liked jazz music.

He will be missed by his wife of 60 years, Carol; children, Peter, Jr. (Karen) Waldor, of Montrose, CO, David (Elizabeth) Waldor, of Brainerd, Dana Waldor, of Nisswa, Daniel Waldor, of Napa, CA, Gretchen (Kevin) Wittwer, of Pequot Lakes, and Barbara (Dan Croteau) Waldor, of Brainerd; grandchildren, Erica Waldor, Jackie Waldor, Daniel Waldor, all of Sacremento, CA, Laura Wittwer, of Minneapolis, Tyler Wittwer, of Brainerd, Betsy Waldor, Jenny Waldor, of Colorado, David Waldor, Jr., of Brainerd, and Danerra (Tom) Lamburth, of Clear Lake, CA; great-granchildren, Tom Lamburth, Jr. and Raylen Lamburth; nieces and nephews; and siblings, Matthew (Sally ) Waldor, of Bloomington and Laura (Bob) Jones, of Santa Cruz, CA. Peter was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, David Waldor, Daniel Waldor, and Georgia "Joani" Hannan.
