Peter Turner

Peter Gene Turner, age 71, of Pine River, passed away August 15, 2022, at his home with family around him. He was born March 22, 1951, in Duluth, MN, to Harvey and June Turner.

Peter grew up in the Pine River area with his 3 brothers and 4 sisters. He graduated from the Pine River High School and Diesel Mechanics Tech College in Fargo, ND. Peter married Terry Botz and they had a son, William “Skeet”. They divorced and Peter married Kathy Davis, who later passed away. He married Linda Villnow and they had 2 children, Pamela and Peter, Jr. Peter helped raise Tammy Villnow as his own. Linda passed away in 2008. Peter married Norma Lang on March 15, 2013, and they made their home in rural Pine River.

Peter held several jobs including maintenance work, logging on his own and for lumber mills. His last job before retiring was with Langenbau Excavating. Peter served 7 years in the Army Reserve and was a member of the Pine River American Legion.

Peter will be dearly missed by his wife, Norma; children: William “Skeet” Elyea, Pamela Turner, Peter Turner, Jr.; stepdaughter, Tammy (Joe) Wynn, Brenda (Allen) Joseph; stepson, Bryan (Roxanne) Lang; grandson, Ace Elyea; step grandchildren: Darren Wynn, Matthew (Alli) Lang, Mitch (Morgan) Lang, Andrea Vickerman, Samantha (Erhardt) Enslin, Christina Talbot, Brendon Joseph; step great grandchildren: Reese and Quinn Lang and Gabriel Enslin; sister, Karen York; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Harvey “Bud”, David, Kevin; sisters: Diane Borman, Jo Ann Rodriguez and Patti Rushing.

Services will be 2 PM on Saturday, August 20, at Pine River United Methodist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Kline Funeral Home, Pine River.
