Peter Baumgartner

Peter Baumgartner, age 68, of Motley, passed away on Thursday, June 30. A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, July 6, at 11:00 AM, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Motley. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 on Tuesday, July 5, at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Motley Public Cemetery in Motley Minnesota on Wednesday, July 6, following the service.



Peter was born on May 30, 1943, to Lawrence and Elizabeth (Rosen) Baumgartner, in Staples, Minnesota. He attended country school in Leader, Minnesota and graduated from Motley High School in 1961. On August 5, 1967, he married Sandra Holsapple at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Motley. Peter was a dairy farmer for most of his life, but did take time off to drive a grain truck for a few years.

Peter enjoyed farming, auctioning, going to the café for lunch and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son (Todd), sister (Mary Ann), and two nephews Tom and Rob.

Peter is survived by his two sons, Chad (Sarah) Baumgartner, and Brett (Tina) Baumgartner, four brothers, Joe (Shirley), Paul (Judy), Bob (Linda), Larry (Shirley), five grandchildren, Brady, Chad John (CJ), Blake, Christian and Zach, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.
