Peter Alexander

Peter J. Alexander, age 86, of Pine River, passed away Friday, July 22, 2011, at Essentia Health St. Joseph's Medical Center, Brainerd. He was born July 2, 1925, in Robbinsdale, MN, to Virgil and Gertie Alexander. Pete was raised in Backus, attending Backus schools until he was drafted and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He enjoyed playing cribbage, hunting and fishing.

Pete is survived by his sons: Peter Alexander, Dean Alexander, James Alexander, Wade Alexander; daughter, Lucinda Anderson; brothers: Louis Alexander, Roy Alexander, Earl Alexander; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Mindy, and brothers, Glen and Virgil.

Private family services will be held.
