Pearl Sampson

Pearl H.C. Sampson died Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Essentia Health – St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. Pearl’s memorial service will be Monday, October 2, at 11 am, at Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd. Friends may visit with family one hour before the service, at the church.

Pearl was born April 9, 1940 in Mayville, North Dakota. She married Richard A. Sampson August 16, 1958 in Motley, MN. Richard was employed for 41 years at the El-Ray in Motley, while Pearl was happy being a mother and homemaker. They attended St. John’s Lutheran Church in Motley.

Pearl is survived by her husband, Richard; daughter, Sheri Lee Johnson (James), Motley, son, Steven Peter Sampson (Jeff Raposa), Denver, CO; and daughter, Jill Marie Moen (David), Cibolo, TX; six grandchildren, Jessica (Tim) Judd, Samantha (Dayton) Bachmann, Adam (Stacey) Johnson, Megan (Nick) Fortuno, Andrea Moen, and Matthew Moen; nine great-grandchildren, Henry, Clara, Thomas, Catherine, Christian, Kaylee, Pearl, Stella, and Kenneth; a sister, Margaret Elaine Nielson, Duluth; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Richard Sampson, and her parents, Peter and Ellen (Jorgenson) Hoeck.
