Paul Misener

Paul Misener, 63, of Brainerd, MN died Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at his home from complications of Frontotemporal Dementia. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00PM, Saturday, July 27, 2019 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd, with Fr. Tony Wroblewski officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be 4-7PM, Friday, July 26th at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Paul was born November 17, 1955 in Brainerd, MN to Eugene and Martha (Sokolik) Misener. He was the baby of the family. Paul married Amy Wicken August 1, 1992 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria, MN. Paul built his own business, Gold Key Home Inspection, before people knew what home inspection was. He had a great work ethic-his business motto was “Top to bottom, inside and out”. Paul was very detail oriented as a home inspector, he provided service and expected it in return. He had a very kind heart, loved to have fun and was a big kid. Paul was a great debater about politics and life in general; he was not afraid to share his opinion and wanted to know why you believed your beliefs. He was a third generation German scratch baker and loved to make chocolate cake. Paul was passionate about work, his wife Amy, politics, service, veterans and their service to our country. He was loving, caring and always remembered an anniversary, very giving and kind hearted. Paul loved living on the lake and going boating anytime he had a free moment. Paul and Amy were able to take 30 cruises which allowed him to relax and get away from work.

Paul is survived by his wife, Amy; sister and brothers, Kay Knandel of Brainerd, MN, Mike (Clare) Misener of Coon Rapids, MN, Pat (Judy) Misener of Crosslake, MN; father in law and step mother in law, Roy (Patty) Wicken; brothers and sister in laws, Tony (Sandy) Wicken, Aaron (Sadie Marti) Wicken, Terri Paradis (Jody Webeck), Rikki (Franco) Iglesias; and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dennis Misener; brother in law, Burt Knandel; niece, Michelle Misener; mother in law, Carol Wicken. Paul’s family wants to thank Shakela Bushway from Advantage PCA Services for her care and compassion of Paul and the staff at Breath of Life and Heartland Hospice.
