Patrick T. Donahue, age 83, of Staples, died Friday afternoon, April 11, 2008 at the Lakewood Health Care Center in Staples. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 10:30 am at St. Michaels Catholic Church with Father Peter Kirchner officiating. Visitation will start one hour before services at the church. Interment will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN. Memorials are requested in lieu of flowers to St. Michael's Catholic Church. Arrangements are with Brenny Funeral Home of Staples.
Patrick Thomas Donahue was born on December 30, 1924, in Marshall, MN to Christopher and Catherine (Thom) Donahue. He attended school in Faribault, MN graduating with the class of 1942. He joined the Navy serving in WWII. Following his honorable discharge he worked for the Western Electric, Lenkert Electric Co. and Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. He was united in marriage to Irene Wensman of Melrose, MN on September 17, 1949. He joined the U S Airforce and was sent to Florida for duty in the base telephone system serving two years than transferring to Korea for one year. He returned to work for the Bell Telephone system until he retired in 1980.
Patrick is survived by his wife, Irene; 3 sons, Timothy, Thomas, Daniel (Barb) and 1 daughter, Colleen; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
