Pamela Joy Raymond died unexpectedly Saturday, January 31, 2015 at her home. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lakewood Evangelical Free Church in Baxter, MN, Pastor Michael Towers officiating . Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Pam was born to Donovan and Lucille (Brueske) Johnson on April 5, 1943 in Alexandria, MN. At 14 they moved to East Grand Forks, MN, where she met the love of her life. She married Robert Alan Raymond on September 5, 1964. They celebrated their 50th anniversary last year.
Pam attended high school in East Grand Forks andreceived her teaching degree from the University of North Dakota in 1965. In 1979 they moved their family to Alexandria, MN where Pam was a teacher and administrator at New Testament Christian School. After retiring, Pam and Rob moved to Brainerd, MN.
In 1980 Pam and Rob both became born-again Christians. Jesus was Pam's focus for the rest of her life. She was able to fulfill a long-time dream this year by leading women in Bible Fellowship Study. Her Christian faith influenced many lives, including those of her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by husband Robert Raymond; children Jay (Stephanie) Raymond, Brainerd, MN; Heidi (Keith) Revels, Farmington, MN; Bryan (Kelly) Raymond, Minneapolis, MN; Ana Raymond, Chowcilla, CA; brother Bryan (Linda) Johnson; brother Larry (Terri) Johnson; 4 brothers-in-law and their spouses; 11 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Bonnie.
