Orlen E. Goldenstein, age76, of Manhattan Beach, Mn passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at the St. Cloud Hospital. He was born February 11, 1934 in Swanburg to Henry and Blanche (Moser) Goldenstein. He attended school in Pine River where he graduated from high school. He entered the United States Army serving in Korea after the conflict. He married Marianne Heideman in 1959 at Minneapolis. They made their home in Blaine, MN. Marianne passed away in 1976. Orlen married Janice in 1978 in Blaine. They moved to the Manhattan Beach area in 1986 where they resided to present.
Orlen enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing and was a member of the Cross Lake American Legion #500. He had also served two terms as Mayor of Manhattan Beach, MN.
He is survived by his wife, Janice of Manhattan Beach; two daughters, Brenda Goldenstein of Elk River, MN and Valerie (Tom) Barnard of Spring Lake Park, MN; three step-children, Kimberly Jo Raph of Cross Lake, MN, Stacy (Dave) Dale of Bloomfield Hills, MI and Steven Amans of Maplewood, MN; grandchildren, Dylan Raph, Logan Amans, David Dale, Natalie Barnard, Kali Raph and Julia Dale; three sisters, Marian (Chet) Luukinen of Sebeka, MN Bertella Raph of Fifty Lakes, MN and Lorna (Norman) Houde of Denver, CO.
Orlen was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Marianne and by his brothers, Kenneth, Wayne and Henry, Jr.
Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2010 at Faith Lutheran Church in Swanburg. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the church.
