Olive Marie Haste, 91, of Staples peacefully passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2013.
Marie was born on January 21, 1922 in a log cabin in Staples, MN, to Charles and Emma (Huske) Wilson. Marie attended school until the 6th grade in a school house in Oylen, MN.
Marie was a gentle soul who was a friend to all. She greatly loved the Lord and was a member of Trinity Lutheran in Staples, MN.
During WWII, Marie worked at the defense plant in Minneapolis. In 1951 Marie lost her hearing as result of Tuberculosis. After working at the defense plant, she raised four sons in Staples, MN, after the death of her husband, Theodore. She enjoyed crafting and selling them out of her home and at the local county fairs. She also was the "taxi service" for all of her friends who could not drive.
Marie is proceeded in death by her first husband, Willard Young, and second husband, Theodore Haste, along with her sons, Jeffrey Haste, Steven Haste and her brother, Charles "Bud" Wilson.
Marie is survived by her sons, Theodore "Ted" Haste, Dennis (Holly) Haste, daughter in-law Lisa Haste, brother Floyd "Bub" Wilson, four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN. A memorial Service will be held on October 5, 2013, at Lakewood Care Center. For those that wish to send the family a card please send to: Dennis Haste 5839 141st Lane NW, Ramsey, MN 55303.
