Norman John Shequen, age 65, of Mineola, Texas, died Sunday, March 25, 2007, in Tyler, Texas after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, April 14, at 1:30 at the Staples United Methodist Church with Reverend Dorothy J. Bull officiating. Visit will start at 10:30 at the church. Arrangements are with Brenny Funeral Home of Staples. Norman John Shequen was born on November 23, 1941 to Earl and Ann (Bendson) Shequen, in Staples, Minnesota. He lived in Mineola for the last ten years having moved from Arlington, Texas. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mineola. He enjoyed fishing, golf, and travel. He owned his own Tool & Die Business in the Twin City Are in Minnesota. He is survived by his wife, Carol Shequen of Mineola, Texas,; son Darren (Vickie) of Franklin, WI; daughter, Wendy (Mike) Gibson of Trisco, TX; sister, Delores Ebinger of Brainerd, MN and five grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Darrell Shequen. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorials to Mayo Clinic Cancer Research Program at 200 First St. SW, Rochester, MN 55905
