Norma Nelson

Norma Nelson, 91, of Randall died at Lutheran Care Center in Little Falls, MN on Thursday, October 25, 2012. Funeral Services for Norma will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cushing, MN. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012 from 4:00-7:00PM at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cushing, MN, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Arrangements have been entrusted to with Brenny Funeral Chapel in Randall. Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society.

Norma was born March 18, 1921 in Randall, the daughter of George O. And Emma (Schwanke) Nelson. She attended Randall Elementary School before graduating as Valedictorian from Little Falls High School in 1939. She continued her education at St. Cloud State University where she graduated with honors with a degree in education. She taught school for 41 years - two years in Cannon Falls, MN; one year in Stockton, CA; and 38 years in Little Falls. Norma was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church where she participated in choir and altar guild, as well as teaching Sunday and Bible School. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, Randall Senior Citizens, and the Sew N Sew Club where she served as President. Norma enjoyed writing and completed a book about Randall, "Little City with Big Heart". She also loved children, traveling, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Evelyn; brothers, Vernon, Kenneth, George, Clem, and Dennis; and step-brother, Lyle Berry. She will be missed and is survived by her brother, Lyle D. (Colleen) Nelson; step-brother, Vernon Berry; sisters-in-law, Bernice, Laurel, Dina, Gerry, and Joyce; 22 nieces and nephews; and numerous grand and great nieces and nephews.
