Nola Swanson

Nola I. Swanson, 54, of Crosslake, formerly of Maple Plain, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010 at her home. Friends are welcome to gather starting at 1:00 PM, Friday, July 23 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake with Father George Zeck officiating a service at 3:00 PM.

Nola was born November 30, 1955 in Marshall, MN, the daughter of Francis and Kathleen (Nelson) Giefer. In 1976, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Keith Swanson in Sioux Falls, SD. The couple moved to the metro area where Nola owned and operated Maple Plain Hair for fifteen years. They moved to Crosslake in 1999 where they owned and operated in Nisswa Hair Design until she was no longer able to due to illness in January 2010.

Nola loved to cook and garden. She and Keith often traveled within the United States and Mexico. She will be remembered as someone who was always helping others.

Nola will be missed by her husband, Keith; her parents, Francis and Kathleen; her siblings, Dianne, Betty, Leslie, Alice, Bernard, and Collette; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Crosslake.
