Neva May Benson McCoy was born July 29, 1924, in Norfolk, NE. At an early age she lived with her parents, Rollin and Ada (Winslow) Benson on a farm near Reading, MN. When she was 3½ the family moved to a farm near Pequot Lakes. She attended school at Siedel Hill School and high school in Pine River.

On November 15, 1946, she was united in marriage to Harry McCoy. To this union 2 children, Rex and Jeanne, were born. Neva and Harry were able to share 61 years of marriage together. After their marriage the couple farmed together in Poplar Township for a while, they then moved to Williams, MN, and later back to a farm North of Motley. In 1993 Neva and Harry moved to their retirement home ½ mile south of the home farm. She always considered herself a farmer but she also enjoyed flower gardening, keeping flowers going that her mother had given her. Among the things she enjoyed were reading, doing crossword puzzles, dancing and singing, especially yodeling. Her real love was for her family, the farm, and the animals.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers. Neva leaves behind her husband of 61 years, Harry; children, Jeanne (Russ) McCoy of Avon, MN, and Rex (Evangelina) McCoy of Muskego, WI; sons Ron and Roy Welsh many grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. Benson and the wonderful hospice caregivers for all they have done.
