Neil Forrest Olson, 67, of Nisswa, died Friday, October 7, 2016 at Good Samaritan Village - Bethany Campus in Brainerd. A Celebration of Life for Neil will be held at 3 PM until close at the Nisswa American Legion on Saturday, November 12, 2016.
Neil was born May 5, 1949, in Zumbrota, the son of Forrest and Eunice (Anderson) Olson. Raised in Zumbrota, Neil attended school and following his high school graduation started driving truck for his dad. In 1976, he married Patricia Laqua and the couple made their home in St. Paul before moving to Pequot Lakes. While living in the Brainerd Lakes Area, Neil worked as a truck driver for Clow Stamping for 36 years. He also drove school and coach buses for Reichert. In 1996, Neil and Pat moved to Nisswa.
Neil loved to stay busy. He liked to drive, was always fixing things and enjoyed working on boats. Most of all, Neil loved his family - especially his granddaughter, who he adored.
Neil will be missed by his wife, Pat, of Nisswa; son, Erich Olson, of Pequot Lakes; granddaughter, Taylor Olson - Finley, of Pequot Lakes; sisters, Vicki Dayton, of Hastings and Val (Tom) Skluzacek, of Pequot Lakes; and his brother, Tom (Cheri) Olson, of Claremont. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Ray Dayton. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
