Myrtle Bradow, age 84, of Pine River, passed away Friday, September 7, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born to Ray and Freda McCoy on July 6, 1928, in Churdan, Iowa. Myrtle married Raymond Bradow on October 12, 1944. She was a cook at the Pine River-Backus Schools for 24 years, and after her retirement, continued to enjoy cooking for her family and friends. Myrtle also enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, canning. She especially loved sharing her produce and baking cookies to share with her family and friends, a tradition which has been passed down to her children and grandchildren.
Myrtle is survived by her children: Freda "Kim" Miller, Pat Bradow (Shaun McMullen), Carl Bradow (Carol); grandchildren: Lisa Davis (Joe), Jill Gapinski (Dwayne), Brad Staples (Tawna), Chris Staples (Traci), Katie Bitzer (Adam), Melissa Bradow, Cory Bradow; 9 great grandchildren; sisters: Rita Ticer (Bill), Roberta Bradow (Ervin); and brother, John McCoy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; and sister, Lois.
Services will be 11 AM on Tuesday, September 11, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Backus, with Rev. Ronald Carnicom officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 PM at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River, and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Pine River
