Muriel Buss

Muriel Buss, age 91, of Pine River, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at Good Samaritan Society, Pine River. She was born to Marius and Minnie Houg on September 9, 1923, in Pine River, the youngest of four boys and three girls. Muriel graduated as valedictorian of Pine River High School in 1941. She married Charles Buss on July 19, 1941. They farmed south of Pine River and raised their five sons and one daughter there. They enjoyed fishing trips and camping with family and friends. Muriel was a longtime member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes.

Muriel is survived by her sons: Don (Mary), Dave (Janice), Dick (Joleta), Bob (Kelly), Chuck (Linda); daughter, Bonnie Bristow (Marc); twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and sister, Opal Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chuck; brothers: Ellsworth "Bud", Clifford, Kenneth, Harlan; and sister, Cora Smith.

Services will be 11 AM on Tuesday, September 8, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be at Gloria Dei Church on Monday from 4 to 7 PM and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in Gloria Dei Cemetery.
