Morris Olson

Morris "Morrie" G. Olson 87, of Brainerd, MN passed away doing what he loved--riding motorcycle-- on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, MN. Services for Morris will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016 at First Lutheran Church in Brainerd, MN with Pastor Nathan Lundgren officiating beginning at 11:00AM with visitation from 9:30AM-11:00PM at the church. Interment with Military Honors will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Brainerd, MN.

Morris was born on August 27, 1928 in Bemidji, MN to Gilbert and Mabel (Sorum) Olson. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1950 for the Korean War. Morris spent the majority of his life living in Minnesota and the last 60 years of that time was spent in Brainerd, MN. He married Olga Leonard 63 years ago on June 27, 1953. Morris enjoyed traveling, and repairing vintage cars and motorcycles. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Morris was a member of the Brainerd American Legion and First Lutheran Church.

Morris is survived by his wife, Olga; sons, Gordon (Jane) Olson of Brainerd, MN; Glen Olson of Joshua Tree, CA; and Danel (Catherine) Olson of The Woodlands, TX; grandchildren, Adam, Hannah (Billy), and their mother, Sandy; Emily and Juliana; great-grandchildren, Brayton and Carson; and sister, Annie (Gladys) Olson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Carol Stewart. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
