Mildred Hays

Mildred L. Hays, 94, a resident of Good Samaritan Woodland Care Center, Brainerd, MN, passed away on June 17, 2011. Graveside services will be held at the Green Mountain Cemetery, Green Mountain, IA on June 25, 2011 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Kim Wilson officiating. Friends may gather after the service at Green Mountain Church for visiting and refreshments.

Mildred was born in Hutchinson, KS on January 11, 1917 to Robert and Ethel (Cummins) Martin. She was raised and educated around the Houston, MO area. On February 8, 1936 she was united in marriage to Marvin Hays in Simmons, MO. They moved to the Green Mountain area in 1942 where they farmed until retiring in 1973, then moving to the Shady Oaks area and Marshalltown. Mildred moved to Glen Lake, MN in 1998 and to Brainerd, MN in 2007. Mildred loved gardening, crocheting, making crafts and fishing with her family.

She is survived by her two sons, Lee (Naomi) of Ozark, MO and Warren (Darlene) of Merrifield, MN; three granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband; parents; two brothers; and her sister.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be made to Good Samaritan Woodland Care Center and Good Samaritan Hospice.
