Mike was born in Minneapolis, MN to Sherman & Ellen Seeker. He was a standout athlete in his younger years and throughout high school. After graduation, Mike proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He earned numerous awards including: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with five campaign stars, three Overseas Service Bars, and an Air Medal. Following his honorable discharge from the United States Army, he married his high school sweetheart, Sharon, on May 31, 1969. They were married for 51 years. Mike and Sharon enjoyed traveling together and were hoping to spend their retired years visiting family and friends across the country as well as enjoying their home on Tomato Lake. Mike was very proud of his two sons and loved enjoying the outdoors with both of them. Anything from snowmobiling, fishing, and hunting; Mike was able to pass down his love of adventure to Mick and Drew. He also taught them how to work hard, both boys have followed in Mike’s entrepreneurial mentality and own their own businesses. Mike was very proud of the men that he and Sharon raised together. Mike was a cement mason by trade, but enjoyed his time owning the Seeker's Cedar Chest with Sharon. They met many lifelong friends during their time running the bar/restaurant. Mike was the most generous and giving person and was willing to help anyone that was in need, the saying “shirt off your back” is synonymous with Mike Seeker. He was well loved in the Crosslake Community. Mike’s journey was a life well lived until the stroke that left him disabled. Although the last 9 years of his life have been challenging, these 9 years do not define the man that Mike was. Throughout Mike’s journey, his most prized accomplishment is seen through his love of his grandchildren, Issac, Noah, Micah, Adele, McKenna and Lewis. He had a love so deep for all of them and his legacy will live on through all six of them.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sharon Seeker; two sons, Mick (Becca) Seeker & Drew (Gail) Seeker; grandchildren, Isaac, Noah, Micah, Adele, McKenna, & Lewis; siblings, Lenee Seeker, Scott (Peg) Seeker, Pat (Coleen) Seeker, Shelly (Steve) Snedeker & Sue (Steve Bergesen) Seeker; nieces, nephews & friends. We will all miss you dearly, but know that you are at peace, until we meet again, we love you!
