Michael SmittyA. Smith, age 55, of Nisswa died Sunday, July 16, 2006 at St. Josephs Medical Center in Brainerd. Memorial services will be Thursday, July 20, at 11 am, at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, officiated by Pastor Chip Avelsgaard, of Oak Street Chapel. A luncheon will follow at the funeral home. Memorials to the family are preferred in lieu of flowers.
Michael Allen Smith was born November 16, 1950 in Brainerd, to Edward and Amy (Holsapple) Smith. He grew up and graduated from high school in Brainerd. He was united in marriage to Sharon Woods in Brainerd in May of 1976. He worked as a self-employed plumber. He enjoyed travel and outdoor activities.

Michael is survived by Sharon, his wife of more than 30 years; his mother, Amy Smith, of Pequot Lakes and Nisswa; siblings, John (Karen) Smith, Lakeshore, Debbie (J.P.) Wesp, Pequot Lakes, Ruth (Mark) Olding, Brainerd, Linda Johnson, St. Paul, Chris (Brian) Lundgren, Nisswa, and Thom Smith, Brainerd; and several nieces and nephews. His father preceded him in death.
