Michael McCormick

Michael ?Mike? McCormick, age 59, a resident of rural Merrifield, (Horseshoe Lake) died Thursday, May 9, 2002, at his home, surrounded by his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, May 14 at 10:30 AM at the Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Crosslake with Father Dennis Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in the Mission Cemetery. Visitation is Monday, May 13 from 5 ? 8 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake. Memorials are preferred to St. Joseph?s Hospice. Arrangements are with the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake.
Mike McCormick was born on November 9, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri to Vernon and Clara (Davis) McCormick. Following his graduation from high school in St. Louis, he entered the United States Army and served in Berlin, Germany. Following his honorable discharge he was united in marriage to Pat Loechl on December 30, 1967 in St. Louis. He was front desk manager at the Sheraton Jefferson Hotel in St. Louis. They moved to Morningside Resort on Pelican Lake that they managed for 3 years. They then moved to Horseshoe Lake in 1976 where he?s been a resident till his death. He worked at Culligan Water Conditioning in Brainerd for 17 years. They also owned and operated McCormick Wholesale Bait for approximately 15 years. Mike enjoyed fishing, sports and collecting trains.

Mike is survived by his wife Pat, two daughters, Monica (Andy) Graham of Golden Valley and Nicole McCormick of Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents.
