Michael Lange

August 16, 1945 — November 7, 2013

Michael Charles Lange (Mike) passed away on November 7, 2013. He died peacefully in his home surrounded by his 3 girls, son-in-law and God-daughter. His backyard critters stopped by that day to say goodbye and even Big 6, Little 6 and Tiny 2, his backyard deer, made a special appearance. Mike lived in Fort Ripley in a home that he put a lot of time and love into fixing up and rightly named Michael's Heavenly Acres.

Mike was born and raised in Monticello to Ed and Mecie (Brown) Lange. He worked his whole life doing underground construction in the Twin Cities metro area. He was a long time fisherman who could filet a northern like no one else.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Woody; and sister, Anna May. He is survived by his three girls, Michelle (Patrick) Sawatzke, Monticello, Mindy (Jonathan) Parsons, Orrock, and Kendra (Thomas) Yasger, Big Lake; his brothers, Edward, Jr. (aka. Sonny), Henry (Ruth), Fred (Shirley); his sisters, Violet (James) Negus, Cleo Stomberg, Rose Scharber and Linda Jordan; his beloved grandchildren that he named personally Big Puff (Morgan), Little Puff (Grace), Hank (Henry), Buck (Michael), Casina (Kassidy), and Jack (Wyatt); nieces, nephews, several loving friends Gary, Sarah, Mo, Ma and A.D., Bear and Jim.

A quaint "Celebration of Mike's Life" open house will be held at his home on November 24 from 1 to 4 p.m.
