Michael Hughes

Michael "Mike" Hughes, 56, of Nisswa, passed away February 9, 2015 at his home. A Celebration of Mike's Life will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services.

Michael Joseph Hughes was born March 19, 1958, in Tallahassee, FL, the son of James L. Hughes and Mary McCann. Following his graduation from Bloomington Lincoln High School, Mike continued his education at the University of Minnesota. For more than 15 years he has been a National Account Manager for Mettler Toledo. In 1983, he married Jeri Schimbeno. The couple enjoyed raising their children and spending time with family and friends. Mike liked to entertain. He enjoyed the outdoors; especially snowmobiling and boating. He constantly had a project to complete - one that would only take 10 minutes. He loved to listen to music but only at man volume. He will be missed.

He is survived by his wife, Jeri; children, Luke (Jessica) Hughes and Alexandra (Andy Caron) Hughes; granddaughter, Isabella Caron; parents, Mary Reaker and James "Lar" Hughes; and siblings, Theresa (Jim) Layton, Tim Hughes and John Hughes. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim.
