Merral Neumann

Merral E. Neumann, 87, of Brainerd, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Edgewood Vista Assisted Living. Services for Merral will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes, with Pastor Frank Milo officiating. Friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to services.

Merral was born March 22, 1923 in Thedford, NE, the son of Lawrence and Hattie (Eisenbeiss) Neumann and raised in Gorden, NE. He farmed in Nebraska until 1963 before he moved to Nimrod, MN where he operated a dairy farm. In 1971, he moved to Moose Lake, MN and worked in real estate until his retirement. Merral enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be remembered for his loyalty to church and his huge breakfasts that included corn fritters and enormous pancakes. He was a jack of all trades, but his family was first and foremost in his life.

Merral will be missed by his children, Tessa (Jerry) Giru, of Hackensack, Gloria Hedlund, of Pine River, Pamela (Charles) Peterson, of Backus, Karen Neumann, of Orr, and Gary (Helen) Neumann, of Lincoln, MO; and 25 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Catherine; his second wife, Deloris; son, Bradley; three brothers; and three sisters.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Pequot Lakes.
