Maynard Johnson

April 18, 1934 — October 13, 2007

Maynard K. Johnson, 73, of Pequot Lakes, died Saturday October 13, 2007 at the Heritage House in Pequot Lakes. Services will be Friday, October 19, 2007 at 10 AM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. A luncheon will follow services at Brennys Reception Center with interment at 2 PM at the Warba Cemetery in Warba, MN. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. There will also be a memorial service Saturday, November 10, 2007 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Warba, MN.
Maynard Kieth Johnson was born on April 18, 1934, in Anoka, the son of Hjalmer and Mabel (Brown) Johnson. He graduated from Hibbing High School and attended the University of Minnesota. He worked as a credit manager at International Harvester for many years. He also owned Johnson Truck Sales in Brainerd and the Chalet Liquor Store. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, sports, and playing guitar.

He will be missed by four daughters, Terri (Jeff) Kramer, of Brainerd, Susan (Patrick) Brennan, of Brainerd, Sandra Johnson, of Peoria, AZ, and Jennifer (Chris) Farlow, of Summerdale, AL; one son, Kevin Johnson, of Warba, MN; his father, Hjalmer Johnson, of Warba, MN; his brother, Clyde Johnson, of Tacoma, WA; his former wife, Bernie Johnson, of Baxter and 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel; brother, Bruce; step-mother, Lorraine, and grandson, Brady Besmehn.
