Maureen Patricia ("Tookie") Charnley (Hoover), age 54, passed away on Thursday, November 2, after a short, hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer. She was welcomed into Heaven while surrounded by her family, in her home.
Born to Robert and DeeAnn Hoover on December 10, 1962, in Little Falls, MN, Maureen grew up in Grand Rapids, alongside her brothers, Patrick Hoover (Chris), Shawn Hoover (Kim) and Kelly Hoover. She attended and graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1981. Maureen enjoyed gardening, camping, bonfires, fishing and couldn't pass up a garage sale. She loved spending time with family, friends and especially her grandchildren. Nothing meant more to Maureen than her family. She was a loving mother and doting grandmother to all of her "babies."
Maureen will be very deeply missed by her husband, Corey, children Crystal Ammerman (Aaron) of Remer, Jack Hoover Sr. (Nichole Houg) of Grand Rapids, Erin Roy (Molly Moriarty) of Grand Rapids, Luke Roy of Grand Rapids, Courtney Charnley of Brainerd, Ana Charnley of Brainerd, and her grandchildren Dutch, Carter, Sullivan, Jack Christopher Jr., KrissaLynn, Kailiannah, Bryn, Annabelle, Salone, Shylo and Serena, and many other family members and friends.
Maureen is preceded in death by her father, Robert Hoover, Grandma "Babe," Grandpa Eddie, Grandma Lois and Grandpa Jack.
A memorial service for Maureen will be held on Saturday, November 11, at 11am at the Christ Episcopal Church at 520 N. Pokegama Ave. in Grand Rapids, to be followed by a luncheon.
