Maureen Shannon Crowe was born on June 14, 1957 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Thomas and Margaret (Johnston) Crowe. She grew up in White Bear Lake and graduated from Hill Murray High School. She attended Lakewood Community College in White Bear Lake and Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, mastering the arts of fashion. She married Alan Busacker on April 28, 1980 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Grand Marais. The couple made their home in Brooklyn Park. Maureen designed and sewed costumes for Shakespeare in the Park in Minneapolis and created the Animal Fair toy prototypes. She also worked at Bag and Baggage in Edina from 1990 until 1998 as a Supervisor. She then worked for Boston Scientific from July of 2000 until January of 2007. In June of 2007, the family moved to Baxter, where she was a stay-at-home mom. She was involved with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts as her children participated in those organizations. Maureen enthusiastically continued to sew, creating quilts, skating costumes, and Halloween costumes. “So much fabric, so little time!” was her constant lament. In 1980, she received an award for Outstanding Silkscreen Design at the Third Annual Arango International Design Competition, co-sponsored by Marimekko Oy. She stayed incredibly busy and was able to balance her devotion to her family with her love of design and sewing.

Maureen will be remembered and missed by her husband, Alan; their children, Bridget Busacker and Christopher Busacker (now at NDSU); her mother, Margaret Crowe; and her siblings: Joseph (Carol) Crowe of White Bear Lake; Timothy Crowe of Minneapolis; Kevin (Jane Hoffman) Crowe of Larchmont, NY; Brian Crowe of Baldwin, WI; and Robert (Jane Kenow) Crowe of Anoka. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Crowe. Memorials are preferred to St. Francis Catholic Church, Brainerd or the American Cancer Society.
