Mathew Grimmer

Mathew Ramsey Grimmer, age 43, of Pine River, passed away June 29, 2015. Mathew (Mat) was the fifth child born to Dale and Joan (Brennecke) Grimmer on September 20, 1971. Mat spent his early years in Rogers, attended Osseo High School, and during his twenties he moved to Monroe, LA, to be with Penny (Makarah's Mom) where their daughter Makarah was born. Mat worked in the flooring business while in LA. In approximately 1997 Mat and Makarah moved to MN where they made their home in Pine River, and Mat worked for Scamp trailers. Mat loved movies, old cars, family, and shopping for values at thrift and second hand stores. Mat loved his daughter and mom with all his heart and his mother is where he drew his strength. Mat and Makarah lived together until she moved away at age 18. Mat's last major accomplishment was to attend Makarah's high school graduation from Pine River High School where he celebrated perhaps his proudest moment as a parent. Mat was also a talented writer and artist with an amazing and endless imagination, with a dream to someday have something he had written or drawn published. We love and miss you, Mat. You taught us all so much...

Mat is survived by his daughter Makarah Grimmer, Pine River; his mother, Joan Grimmer, Pine River; and his siblings: Vicki (Don Walz) Grimmer, South Haven, John (Kim) Grimmer, Elk River, Mark (Wendy) Grimmer, Elk River.

Mat was preceded in death by his father, Dale Grimmer; his grandparents; his brother, Paul Grimmer; his uncle, Eugene Jenneman; his aunt and uncle, Barbara and Peter Gietman; his 10 uncles from the Grimmer family; and his pets, Sara and Grimm.

A celebration of Mat's life will be held on Saturday, August, 8, from 12 to 2 PM, with a memorial service at 1:30 PM, at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River.
