Mary Beatrice Woldahl

Mary Woldahl, 86, of Motley, MN passed away on November 11, 2023, in Staples, MN. On June 11, 1937, Mary was born to Verne and Alice (Clark) Rittenhouse in Martin County, MN.

After graduating high school, Mary moved to Kansas City, after a short period of time she moved to Duluth MN, where she met Duane, the love of her life and future husband, at the local roller rink. On December 27, 1958, Mary and Duane Woldahl were married in Moorehead MN.

There was nothing that Mary couldn’t do when she set her mind to it. She loved woodworking, sewing, furniture upholstery and refinishing, landscaping, rock walls, fishing and even worked alongside Duane, in their logging business. Mary and Duane loved to travel around the country experiencing new things. 

Family was very important to them and made it a point to never miss any family gatherings. 

Mary also had a love for all living things, small or large. Throughout the years, she adopted many stray cats.

She is survived by Duane, her husband of 65 years, her sister in-law Jean Rittenhouse, and many nieces and nephews. Mary is preceded in death by her parents Vern and Alice Rittenhouse, her brothers Francis (Thelma) Rittenhouse, Larry (Mary) Rittenhouse, Robert (Bob) Rittenhouse, her sisters Marge (Bill) Richardson and Celia (Jim) Harris, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Carl and Joyce Woldahl, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held 12pm-2pm on Saturday, December 2nd at the Scandia Valley Town Hall.
