Mary Schwanke

June 1, 1925 — October 26, 2012

Mary E. Schwanke passed away peacefully at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls, MN on October 26th surrounded by her loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 2nd at 11:00am at St. James Catholic Church, Randall, MN. Friends and relatives may call Thursday, November 1st from 5:00-8:00pm and one hour prior to services at Brenny Funeral Chapel, Randall, MN.

Mary was born on June 1st, 1925 to Guy and Mary (Nellie) Brisbane. After attending school in Randall and Little Falls she began teachers training. She married Quentin Schwanke on October 27th, 1945 in St. Cloud, MN. Besides being a homemaker, Mary worked for 26 years at the Randall Post Office.

Mary enjoyed traveling the globe. She would tell you that her favorite trip was the family Arizona excursion, which has been the source of many holiday gathering laughs throughout the years. She was a fantastic cook, baker, and armchair jeopardy player. Mary also enjoyed reading, watching countless hours of college basketball, and proudly sharing pictures of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Tom (Colleen) Schwanke, of White Bear Lake, Marcia Schwanke, of Park Rapids, and Jo (Tom) Yasgar, of Sauk Rapids; her grandchildren, Eric Schwanke, of Lawton, OK, Chris (Amy) Schwanke, of Hugo, Laura (Jake) Sisterman, of Spring Lake Park, Nick Schwanke of, Lawton, OK, Julie Yasgar, of Baton Rouge, LA and Lindsey Yasgar, of St. Louis Park; and her pride and joy, great-grandchildren Benjamin, Owen, and Landon. Mary is also survived by her sister-in-law, Rosemarie Brisbane and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, and one brother. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Randall.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
