Mary Salber

August 12, 1925 — January 13, 2003

Mary Delores (Wagner) Salber was born August 12, 1925 in Ellsworth, Minnesota to Joseph and Mathilda (Gerardy) Wagner. She grew up and graduated from high school in Ellsworth. She attended Mankato State Teachers College and then taught for three years in Noble County. She was married to Leonard Salber on June 16, 1947 in Ellsworth. The couple moved to Petersburg, Nebraska, where they farmed from 1947-1968. In 1968 they moved to Browerville, where they continued farming until retiring in 1994. Delores was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Randall. Her family meant everything to her, and she was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed baking and canning produce from their garden. She loved the outdoors, especially flowers and wildlife.
Delores is survived by Leonard, her spouse of 56 years; a daughter Mary-Lynn (Kevin) Evans of Little Falls; four sons Roger (Wanda) Salber of Browerville, Steven (Cheryl) Salber of Browerville, Glen (Carol) Salber of Little Falls, and George Salber of Browerville; two brothers George Wagner of Clarissa and Joseph (Rosemary) Wagner of Ellsworth; eleven grandchildren Brenda, Robby, Chad, Kimberly, Shirin, Sarah, Shane, Emily, Marissa, Tyler, and Troy; and four great-grandsons Jordan, Blayde, Gavin, and Bradon. Her parents, an infant son David, a son Jim, an infant brother and brothers Werner and Richard, and two sisters Catherine and Rita preceded her in death.

A mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 17, 10:30 at St. James Catholic Church in Randall, with the Reverend Father Al Quade officiating. Burial will be at the St. James Cemetery. Friends may visit on Thursday, January 16 from 5 - 8 PM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Randall with parish prayers at 7:30 PM.
