Mary Dawn Roth, 70, of Nisswa, formerly of Coon Rapids, died Saturday November 1, 2008 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Brainerd surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be at 2:00PM, Thursday November 6, 2008 at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa with Rev. Bruce Hannem officiating. The relatives will receive friends from 5 till 7 PM on Wednesday evening at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter and one hour prior to services at the church.
Mary Roth is survived by her husband of 35 years, Kenneth; her mother Dorothy Heglie, of Fargo, ND; daughter, Kim (Randy) Kallevig, of Edina; two sons, Kevin (Kristin) Cannon, of New Franken, WI, Scott Cannon, of Minneapolis; two step sons, Bruce Roth, of Milpitas, CA and Timothy Roth, of Seattle, WA; one sister, Jonelle (Birch) Burdick, of Fargo, ND; and her grandchildren, Megan, Cooper and Lucas. She was preceded in death by her father, Orville Heglie.
Mary Dawn Roth was born on September 4, 1938 in Fargo, ND. She graduated from Fargo Central High School. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Roth on December 30, 1972 in Watertown, SD. Mary was a talented baker of Scandinavian sweets, an excellent cook, and an expert at anything related to sewing, knitting, or crocheting. She was widely known for creating the thinnest lefsa ever. She is a former member of the Nisswa Womens Club.
