Mary Pohl

Mary Pohl, 89, of Staples, MN passed away Monday, September 12, 2016 at the Lakewood Health System Hospital in Staples, MN. Services for Mary will be 2PM, Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, with Pastor Roy Miles officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples, MN.

Mary was born May 25, 1927 in Staples, MN to Leo and Margaret (Skaife) Simkins. She graduated from Staples High School. Mary worked as a nurse's aide at the Mary Rondorf Home, and at the Carter Ringer Sewing Company in Staples. She loved to travel and take walks. Mary was united in marriage to Theodore "Ted" Pohl on September 1, 1961 at Bar Harbor, MN. Ted passed away on January 6, 2005.

Mary is survived by her children, Karen (Garry) Carpenter of Staples, MN, Leland "Butch" Webster of Philbrook, MN, Cynthia "Penny" (Merl) Engleking of Leesburg, FL, Rebecca (Joe) Kestner of Swanville, MN, Daniel Pohl of Coon Rapids, MN, David (Jill) Pohl of Mora, MN; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Margaret Simkins; husband, Ted; siblings, Harold, Ernie, Ollie, Earl, Charles "Joe"; one grandchild, Cindy Engleking. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
