Mary Fearing

Mary was born to Peter & Frances John of Browerville, where she resided until her marriage to Dean Fearing, May 22, 1982, when she moved to Staples and lived until the time of her death. Mary was a nurse at St. Johns Hospital, in Browerville, for 25 years where she gave her love and care to many. She especially enjoyed caring for the new born babies and surgical patients. She made many friends in Browerville and then Staples. Mary worked very hard all her life and raised 5 children on her own, on a small salary. She was a very hard working individual and raised a beautiful garden and was constantly complimented on her yard. After her marriage, she was a homemaker and loved and cared for her husband, Dean and her home. Together, they raised a huge garden, (with not a single weed), manicured lawn and loved to fish, (she couldnt wait to eat them). Mary enjoyed dancing with her loving husband and watching them, you would think they had danced together forever. In September of 2006, she was diagnosed with lymphoma, which had spread. She fought long and hard and was put in remission, much to everyones surprise. Then in June of this year, she started having pain in her side and was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. It was incurable the doctors said but possibly chemo could prolong her life. She didnt hesitate to say, When do we start?even knowing the long road ahead. She didnt want to leave the love of her life, Dean. Mary fought hard but lost the battle due to complications. She was a very strong woman. Mary was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Staples and Staples Horizons Club. She enjoyed dancing, fishing, going out for Chinese, playing dirty bingo, and visiting and spending time with her husband, family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Dean, Staples, MN, her children, James (Cindy Kilman), Cloquet, MN., Diane Host, Sebeka, MN, Richard Citrowski, Texas, Marilyn (Rick) Brichacek, Browerville, MN, David (Virg) Citrowski, Richfield, MN, Terry Fearing, Grand Rapids, Mi, Lori (Blayne) Kern, Bessemer, Mi, Patti (Brian) Baustian, Alexandria, MN, Scott (Lori) Fearing, Staples, MN, Kristi (Chris) Lessin, Cohasset, MN, Kelly (Todd) Swenson, San Antonio, TX, one brother, Anthony (Judy) John, New Brighton, MN, one sister, Bernice Straussser, Tucan, AZ, 27 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Frances John, and 3 brothers, William, Joseph and Matthew John.
