Mary Kay Dehen, 76, of Brainerd, died at her home on Wednesday, June 19. 2013. Services will be held at 6:00 PM, Monday, June 24, at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with a visitation starting at 4:30 PM and a reception to follow the service.
Mary Kay was born February 20, 1937, in Havre, MT, the daughter of Loren and Caroline (Fraser) Jacobson. She was raised in Grand Forks were she graduated high school. In 1956, she married her high school sweetheart, Jim Dehen. The couple lived in numerous locations during his career in the military. Following retirement Mary Kay and Jim lived in New Hampshire, before deciding to make the Brainerd Lakes Area home to be near their family. Jim died in 2002. Mary Kay enjoyed knitting, sewing, and genealogy. She was fond of working in her yard, especially planting flowers and gardening. Most of all, Mary cherished being near and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She will be missed by her sons, Jim (Shannon) Dehen, of Brainerd and Joe Dehen, of Brainerd; grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, and Nicole; and great-grandson, Hunter. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Linda Kay; parents, and two brothers.
