Mary Lou Campbell, age 89, peacefully passed away on July 21, 2010 after a short rehab stay at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd.
A Mass of Christian Burial and celebration of life for Mary Lou will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. There will be a visitation from 9-11 AM prior to the services at the church. All are welcome to Brenny Funeral Chapel's Reception Room in Baxter to share memories with the family from 12:30 - 4:00 PM following the church services. Interment will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley on Wednesday, July 28, 2010.
Mary Lou was born in Marceline, MO on January 6, 1921 - one of 11 children. She married Marvin Campbell on January 31, 1946, spending 60 years together raising their 12 children in Crookston, MN then moving to Brainerd in 1971.
Mary Lou loved life, especially her wonderful children and their families; along with 26 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She will be best remembered for her fun love of fashion and entertaining, always enjoying scrumptious food, gorgeous flowers and surroundings, friends, travel, sharing good news and talking about her family.
Mary Lou is blessed to be survived by one brother; two sisters; and her 12 children and families: Greg Campbell, Shane (Vickie) Campbell, Nevin (Maureen) Campbell, Marva (Chuck) Pearson, Michael (Dick) Tiedeman, Collette (Dick) Turcotte, Brad Campbell, Heather (Mike) Wedding, Reed (Sally) Campbell, Bride (Scott) Wiltse, Karen (John) Clark, and Doug (Renee) Campbell - grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her loving husband, Marvin; granddaughter, Leah; and eight brothers and sisters.
The family appreciates memorials to Camp Confidence Learning Center or the St. Francis Catholic School.
Mary Lou, Mom, Grandma will be dearly missed by everyone who shared time with her - defining her as a "Classy Lady". As I pass, it warms my heart to know I leave behind a family so full of love and goodness. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
