Mary Cote Boos, 78, of Wayzata and Nisswa passed away peacefully into the arms of her beloved Jesus on June 13, 2015. Mary was born October 30, 1936 to Julia and Reynold Frederick Brownlee Cote. Graduated in 1954 from Northrop School, went on to Centenary College, was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and received her Bachelor of Science degree in 1958 from the University of Minnesota.
On June 10, 2015 she celebrated 55 years of marriage to Frederick Carpenter Boos, a union that led to raising three exceptional daughters with her compassionate spirit and warm, gentle heart. Julie, Carolyn and Cindy excelled in many varsity sports at The Blake Schools, all received Masters Degrees and one a PhD. Mary's devotion to all the endeavors of the girls, her backing and unfailing love encouraged these results.
Mary spent many years in the Hospitality Industry aiding Fred at Grand View Lodge, creating a lifetime of memories for many guests and employees; befriending all and greeting everybody with her big smile, a hug and lots of candy treats. She touched the lives of all around her.
Mary loved her Lord, her family and her many friends. Mary's love for Jesus led to her being a self-appointed Evangelist. She enjoyed hosting Bible Studies, studying and sharing God's word. She had strong interests in riding, skiing, tennis, golf, sailing, fishing (won the State Fishing and Golf Championship one year) and her home and friends on Gull Lake and Wayzata.
She cherished her ability to serve others and was on the Board of Directors of Lamplighters International, the Cote Family Companies, the Thorpe Foundation, the Cote Foundation and Jones Harrison Home.
Mary is survived by her husband Fred, daughters Julia & Rich Clay, Carolyn & Eric Jones, Cindy & Scott Nordlund; her brothers Randy & Carol Cote, Bob & Rita Cote, Bo & Cheryl Cote and Sam & Mary Jo Cote and seven wonderful grandchildren, Carson, Mary, Brenden, Maya, Kate, Kristen and Samantha and her caregiver Jeff Nelson.
Thanks to all who prayed each day for her. Memorial services will be held on July 27 at 11:00 am at Wayzata Evangelical Free Church in Wayzata and on July 30th at 11:00 am at the Journey Church in Nisswa. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Camp Lincoln-Hubert Scholarship Fund at 1460 Market Place Dr., Eden Prairie, MN 55344 and N.C. Little Memorial Hospice at 7019 Lynmar Lane, Edina, MN 55435.
