Marvin C. Lundin July 27, 1925 - May 10, 2016

Marvin "Marv" Lundin, the son of Carl Arvid Lundin and Flossie Fern Pearson was born in Pine River, MN. He attended the public school system and graduated from Pine River High School in 1943. Marv went into the Army Air Corps and was part of the crew of for the B17s known as the Flying Fortresses during World War II.

He married Mary Louise Lange on February 10, 1945. After his discharge in 1946 Marv attended college and graduated from the University of Wisconsin/Stout in 1950. Marv taught Industrial Arts and was the high school basketball coach at Mount Hope High School in Mount Hope, Wisconsin and later in Faribault, MN, at the high school there.

Marvin became the manager of the Chamber of Commerce in Le Sueur, MN, in 1957. He became the director of the Minnesota Optometric Association in 1968 and was also a member of the International Association of Optometric Executives where he was president from 1972-1974. Marvin was involved with the MOA until he retired in 1990. Marv and Mary moved into their retirement home in Breezy Point in 1990 where he spent many years on the planning commission for the city.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Mary, daughter Claire and son, Erik along with 4 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the memorial service. A luncheon will follow at the church. Burial will be in Our Saviors Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are with Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes.
