Marvin Hoopman

Marvin J. Hoopman, 63, of Pillager died on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at his home. A Memorial Service for Marvin will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with Pastor Barb Christensen officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 PM.

Marvin was born on May 17, 1949 in Deer River, MN to Marvin and Molly (Doty) Hoopman Sr. He graduated from Deer River High School. Marvin married Terrie (Slayton) on June 17, 1992. Marvin worked for over 20 years in lawn maintenance. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Terrie; children, Sheila Hoopman of Grand Rapids, MN, Misty (Otto) Scherr of Clinton Township, Michigan, Jason Hoopman of Pillager, Dawn (Clinton) Pierce of Brainerd, MN, and Jerry (Katy) Hoopman of Brainerd, MN; step-children, Angie (Brandon) Hines of Breezy Point, MN, Rachael (Jerry) Frimood of Brainerd, MN, and Patricia Harger of Missouri; brothers and sisters, Larry (Jan) Hoopman, Doris (Rodney) Mortenson, and Robin (Sandy) Hoopman all of International Falls, MN; twenty-three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
