Martha Urban

Martha (Marty) Justine Urban, age 88, of Nisswa, MN, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2024. Preceded in death by husband, James Louis Urban, parents, Howard Wilson Sr. and Helen (McMillan) Shoemaker, brothers, Howard W. Shoemaker Jr. and Thomas E. Shoemaker.

 Marty graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa and attended Creighton University to pursue a career as a dental assistant. Marty worked hard to help support her family, eventually working for the United States Post Office. Upon retirement, Jim and Marty bought their dream lake home on Clark Lake in Nisswa, MN.  

Marty is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Robert) Hendrix, of The Villages, FL and Pamela (Kevin) Van Meter, of Ham Lake, MN, six grandchildren Kristen (Jason) Mueller, Kayla (Austin) Tech and Craig (Leah) Hendrix, Scott (Kim) Van Meter, Steven (Teresa) Van Meter and Amy (Eric) Matuska and 12 great-grand children.

 Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter, MN. Services will be held at a later date.
