Martha Thielen

Martha Y. Thielen, 83, Lake Alexander, Cushing, MN, died Sunday, 10-27-2019 at Arbor Lakes Senior Living in Maple Grove.  The Funeral Service for Martha will be at 11 AM, Friday, 11-1-2019 at the Lincoln Evangelical Free Church in Cushing, with visitation for one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be at the Scandia Valley Cemetery, Cushing, MN, following the service.

Martha Cameron was born on October 12, 1936 in Minneapolis, daughter of James and Sena (Stenbekken) Cameron.  She grew up in Minnesota and attended high school in St. Francis, MN.  She was united in marriage with Frank Thielen on November 7, 1953 at Zion Lutheran Church in Crown, MN.  They made their home in Crystal, MN for a few years and moved to Maple Grove, where they lived until the early 1990’s, when they moved to Lake Alexander, near Cushing, MN.  Frank died on February 27, 2008.

Martha enjoyed fishing, gardening, her two dogs, being outdoors.  She also enjoyed sewing, reading and watching the Minnesota Vikings play.

Martha is survived by her children: Michael (Jeanne) Thielen of Cold Spring, MN, Cheryl (Steven) Swanson of Rogers, MN, and Timm (Alyce) Thielen of Monticello, MN; grandsons: Mark & Matthew Thielen; granddaughters: Tami Zilka & Rachel Swanson; and great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, her husband, Frank and a great granddaughter, Sophie.
