Marlys Ford

Marlys Ford passed away peacefully Thursday, November 8, 2018 at her home.

Marlys was born March 30, 1935, in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Arnold and Ida Anderson. Graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis in 1953. Later in life Marlys pursued medical training and worked as a paramedic in Minneapolis breaking the way for all professional Women EMT's of Today. One of her greatest love was taking care of and watching her grandchildren grow.

Marlys was a strong willed and minded woman. She was active member Two Rivers Ski Club and bowling team. Her love of music entailed playing the organ, singing, listening to Elvis and even attempting to play the banjo. Over the years she rescued many dogs, some of which were brought home by her children. Marlys also enjoyed working with stained glass and painting. Above all, Marlys looked forward to the time she spent with her family at Lake Alexander.

She will be missed by her husband, Bruce; dog Layla, children, Scott (Lisa) Blascyk and Sherry (Dwight) Grube; stepdaughters, Stacie (Phil) Lansing and Kelly (Jamie) Iaquinto; Grandchildren Jessica (Brandon), Brandon, Nicole, Andrew, Ann (Danny), David, Pete, Tony and Danielle (Mike) and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Vickie; and brother DuWayne.

Services will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cushing on Saturday, November 17th 2018 beginning with a visitation at 1:00 p.m. and a service at 2:00 p.m. Private family interment will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
