Marlys Brezinsky

Marlys Brezinsky, age 72, of Crosslake, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2020, at Hennepin County Medical Center, Minneapolis. She was born to Joseph and Arlene Smisek on January 26, 1948, in Faribault, MN. Church was her life and she was a youth group leader and taught religious classes at Immaculate Heart in Crosslake. She also was a volunteer “grandma” at Crosslake Community School.

Marlys is survived by her daughter, Melanie Reed (Jamie); son, Mike Brezinsky (Kati-Lyn); brother, Bob Smisek; sisters, Connie Clark and RonaLee Chavie; grandchildren: Mariah Reed, Sage Brezinsky and Jaeger Reed; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Michael “Butch” Brezinsky.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM on Thursday, July 30, at Immaculate Heart Catholic Church, Crosslake. Visitation will be one hour prior to mass. Interment will be at Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis.
