Marlene Anderson

Marlene Carol Anderson, 80, of Pillager, MN died on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Lakewood Health System Hospital in Staples, MN. Services for Marlene will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 11:00AM at Assembly of God Church in Staples, MN with visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Wildwood Cemetery in Pillager, MN.

Marlene was born on January 20, 1936 in Bayfield, WI to Lloyd and Myrtle (Roetgger) Clark. She moved to Minneapolis when she was a young girl and attended school there before leaving early due to her father's death. Marlene worked at Prudential Insurance in Minneapolis in the claims department. She married Wallace Anderson in Columbia Heights, MN on October 1, 1955. They lived in Brooklyn Park, Golden Valley, Crystal, and Maple Lake, MN before moving to Pillager, MN in 1992. Marlene enjoyed sewing, cooking, and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. She also enjoyed playing piano for her church.

Marlene is survived by her husband, Wally of Pillager, MN; children, Rona (Ron) Koch of New Stanton, PA, Dave Anderson of Pillager, MN, Valerie (Kevin) Graves of Prior Lake, MN, and Veronica (Kevin) Taylor of Marquette, MI; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; siblings, Wayne (Evelyn) Clark of Camano Island, WA, Diane (Roger) Hunt of Plainfield, IL, and Carol Clark of Minneapolis, MN; and sister-in-law, Mary Clark of Minneapolis, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Myrtle Clark; brothers, Lyle and Bob; and granddaughter, Jennifer Graves. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
